From the shop: on heavy-duty wheel ends, a leaking seal or a cracked hub cap lets oil out and dirt in, and a dry wheel end can fail quickly. Check oil level and look for leaks at every service. When you replace a seal, clean the hub and spindle, inspect the wear surface and install the seal straight with the correct tool. Adjust the wheel bearings exactly as the manufacturer's procedure says. King pin installation depends on the kit and the application: some kits need the bushings reamed, while no-ream kits use pre-sized bushings, so follow the instructions that come with your kit.
