On this page you will find STRONG ARM hood lift supports, trunk lid lift supports and liftgate lift supports. Lift supports are pressurized cylinders that hold up hoods, trunk lids and liftgates. When one gets weak, the opening will not stay up on its own, which is a safety problem for anyone working under it.

From the shop: replace lift supports in pairs, even if only one feels weak; they wear out at about the same rate. Support the hood, trunk or liftgate with a helper or a prop before you remove the old supports, and never let it drop. Take a photo first so the new ones go in the same direction; most are mounted with the rod end down. Many supports come off by lifting the retaining clip with a small screwdriver. Never heat, puncture or try to open a lift support.
