FRAM

FRAM is one of the most familiar filter names in American garages. At Restauco we carry FRAM filters for cars, trucks, SUVs and heavy-duty equipment.

For oil changes you will find FRAM Extra Guard oil filters, made for everyday drivers who change oil at the regular recommended interval, and FRAM Tough Guard oil filters, designed for tougher conditions like stop-and-go traffic and hot or cold weather. We also list FRAM Extra Guard engine air filters and FRAM HD (heavy-duty) air and oil filters, including by-pass oil filters.

On the fuel side we carry FRAM spin-on fuel filters, cartridge fuel filter kits and fuel/water separators, common on diesel engines.

From the shop: put a light film of clean oil on the gasket of a new spin-on filter, and make sure the old gasket did not stay stuck on the engine. A double gasket is a classic cause of a big oil leak. Check the air filter at every oil change, and change it sooner on dusty roads. On diesels, drain the water separator as the owner's manual says.

Filters that look the same can have a different thread or bypass valve. Match the FRAM number on your old filter, or confirm by year, make, model and engine. Send us your VIN if you need help.
