Each converter listing states in its title whether it is California (CARB) legal or Federal/EPA only. Federal/EPA and non-CARB converters are not for sale in California or other CARB states. Check the emissions label under your hood, and call us before you buy if you are not sure.

From the shop: a catalytic converter usually fails because of something upstream, such as a misfire, a rich mixture or an engine burning oil. Fix the cause first or the new converter will fail too. On rusty systems, plan for new gaskets, bolts and hangers. Install the system loose, align it from front to back so nothing touches the body, then tighten it.
